ABOUT US

Chuck and I have lived in Oregon since we were babies.  We've visited just about every state in the union in the 30 years we've been married but have never been tempted to give up Oregon.  WE LOVE IT!

We've always been an outdoorsy family.  Camping and fishing were always high priorities for us.  Now we have grandkids and we continue the traditions with them and love every minute.  There is something about those grandkids.  Not only do they think we walk on water, everything we say is gospel!  I love It!

When we decided to go into an animal venture we wanted an animal that would be loving and not so big they would scare the kids.  We definitely wanted an "easy-keeper", too.  We believe we have found that "perfect" little animal!  Our miniature donkeys are such fun loving little creatures.  We love going to the barn everyday!

After retirement, we bought our 5 acres and built a lovely home to live in peacefully for the rest of lives.  After a couple of years we felt we were missing something.  We decided we needed to add some little creatures to our lives since all the grandkids were in school now and could only visit occasionally.

So Chuck went shopping for a "new barn" and I went shopping on the internet for our "new miniature donkeys."  Building the barn and buying the miniature donkeys was the easy part.  Getting those fences built and figuring out where to put them was the hard part!

Enter our good friend Wayne.  He and Chuck have built and re-built fences.  Sometimes I changed my mind about how many stall/runs we needed or how big of a pasture so and so needed and they would take down a line of cattle-panels and put them somewhere else.  What great guys!

We finally got it all figured out by the end of the summer and it all looks great.  We couldn't have done it or had so much fun without our friends help!  Thank you Wayne and Patty!

Every day is a new experience with our little donkeys.  I love going down to the barn and being greeted by each and every one.  They all have their own personalities and our new baby foals have added even more pleasure to each day.  The only thing better than a fluff-ball baby donkey greeting you every day is your grandkids coming to visit!  And what a wonderful world it is to have BOTH!
